dCS Lina wins 2023-2024 EISA award

The dCS Lina series has been recognised with an award from the Expert Imaging and Sound Association—a global network of experts from magazines and websites covering Hi-Fi, home theatre, and a wide range of consumer electronics

The EISA Awards celebrate products that combine “the most advanced technologies and desirable features with class-leading performance”.

Each year, EISA’s members—which include journalists from 30 countries, representing 60 of the world’s top consumer electronics magazines and websites—review a wide range of products in one of six categories, depending on their specific area of expertise: Hi-Fi, Home Theatre Video, Home Theatre Audio, Photography, Mobile Devices, and In-Car Electronics. This year’s winning Hi-Fi products were selected by a panel of 19 members, hailing from Europe, Japan, and the US.

Judging is a multi-step process: first, members put forward a list of nominations, based on their own tests and reviews. Nominations are then collated into a shortlist, with members gathering to discuss the merits of each shortlisted product in detail before making their final selection.

Following this comprehensive process, we are delighted to reveal that dCS Lina has received a 2023-2024 EISA Award for Best High-End Headphone Solution.

Members described the Lina series as “a stunning addition to the high-end headfi landscape”, praising the Lina Network DAC’s “remarkable clarity and detail”, and the headphone amplifier’s “energy and punch”.

You can read their comments in full below. We’re thrilled to see our product recognised by some of the world’s leading experts on all things hi-fi, and would like to thank everyone who nominated dCS Lina.

Commenting on the award win, dCS Managing Director David Steven said: “The dCS Lina series was conceived as a highly capable and hugely versatile selection of audio separates, that could be used independently or as part of a complete playback system, and excel within a wide range of environments—from two-channel audio systems, to more intimate headfi settings,” explains David Steven, Managing Director at dCS.

“Recognising the growing numbers of people listening with headphones, we gave a great deal of thought to the unique needs of the headphone community when developing the Lina range. This led us to create our first ever standalone headphone amplifier, as well as some novel features for the Lina DAC which are designed to support and enhance headphone listening. Since Lina’s launch, we’ve been hugely excited to see so many music lovers enjoying their Lina systems, and we are honoured to receive this endorsement from the team at EISA.”

“A stunning addition”: EISA judges on the dCS Lina series

“dCS’s Lina comprises a network DAC, master clock and analogue headphone amplifier, all built to the same exacting standard and designed to be neatly stacked,” says EISA.

“Supporting streamed and wired digital sources up to 384kHz/DSD128, the Lina DAC is the beating heart of the system, and employs dCS’s proven Ring DAC technology to bring music to life with remarkable clarity and detail. The fully-balanced amplifier, meanwhile, has the energy and punch to work with even the most demanding of headphones.

Interoperability between the thee units is handled by ‘Power Link’ connectivity, and dCS’s Mosaic Control app offers music selection, upsampling/filter choice, and much more.”
