dCS Community software upgrade

Apparently our community software package here has gotten an update, to Discourse 3.4.3.

Apart from that we all have to log in again, I found some new features:

There is the new User Panel, with statistical overview:

And the Profile Panel has some new options (the 2 on top):

Nice :+1:

Apparently today our community software package was updated to:

Discourse 3.5.0

After six months of steady improvements in our beta releases, we’re excited to announce our latest release, Discourse 3.5. This release, we focused on improving both the member and community management experience. We’ve rolled out Horizon, our sleek modern theme; a new composer option that makes creating and responding to topics simpler; streamlined color management with updated dark mode settings; automatic site translations; and much more.

All works well, and looks good.

But @James from now on I cannot see/ open the forum anymore in Firefox, and have to do it from either Chrome or Edge…

Firefox on MacOS seems to work fine though.

My Firefox on Windows runs in Strict Privacy Mode. However, this was not a problem until today’s Discourse update.

Switched my Firefox to Strict Privacy mode too, still works fine.

Must be a Windows thing

Erno, so sorry for not picking this up sooner, I have been away until today. Are you still having this issue? Seems to be working okay for me on Firefox / Windows 10.

Hi James,

I am still having the same issue. The dCS Community refuses to open on Firefox 142.0.1 on Windows 11 Pro 24H2. Just 5 blinking blue dots while trying to load.

Edit: I should add that the same happened with the Roon Community, since it runs on Discourse 3.5.0.beta8-dev.

I don’t know if t his is any help to you or @James , but I am running Firefox 142.01 with Win11 Home without any issues at all regarding access to this revised dCS Community forum.

Thanks @PAR . I tried changing the protection level from Strict to Standard. No success. Cleared the sites cache, no success. I run Norton 360 in the background, and will keep doing so. Only until the new community software version all went well.

If @James has other suggestions to try, that would be welcome.

Norton 360? Me too.

Have you tried simply logging out , deleting any shortcut and starting from scratch entering your credentials manually?

Yes, first thing

Hi All,

We’ve checked the site on latest patched Windows 11 on Firefox and it seems OK here …

@Ermos - do you have any other laptops / desktop PCs around that you can check on, I don’t think the issue is our end from what I can see?

Thanks @Phil . Tried on another Windows 11 PC and Windows 11 laptop, and both do show this community website in Firefox, so something indeed is wrong with my main rig.
