Looks like a Woody but I don’t think it is. I have a vague recollection of @Stockholm1973 saying it was an ’IKEA hack’.
Indeed:

It’s Ikea lack but a discontinued model . It was sold as a set of 2 . I managed to source 2 sets through Facebook marketplace ( unused / packed ) . One set was located 300km away from our home . The sound was a little less focused but in an enjoyable way to my ears .
I opted for a Naim fraim lite as I didn’t want glass shelves (I had a spectral hifi rack before and the glass made the system sound bright ). The sound with the Naim rack is more focused and clear compared to the Ikea hack and I’m happy with it for now . Agree that the rear leg is a pain for connections .
Problem solved!
Bespoke Pilkington, 10mm, tinted, toughened glass, now in situ.
Yes I Know, glass is not ideal for dCS products (or so I’m told).
It’ll do for the next few months while I decide what amplification and rack I will use with the new Bartók, which is sounding amazing as each day passes.
So long as you know .
It fits, it matches and so looks good.
But as you have already mentioned, it certainly won’t be helping in the sound department.
But for now a cheap solution.
But it’s not just the fraim glass, the complete rack rings like a bell. Probably good for naim but not for anything else i have ever placed on it.
You’re quite right Dunc, it does look good. But that may be about it!
I won’t start a ‘Racks’ topic now, but it was interesting to see the various racks (including yours Dunc😀) on “Showing off your dCS system”.
Some have £100,000 worth of kit, on an Ikea piece of furniture, some have their kit on a £6,000 rack.
I binned my carpet a couple years ago, now I have Karndean LVT. The sound was a tad bright, but now we’ve got loads of soft furnishings and it sounds good. Not heard it ringing though…
Just talk loudly infont of the rack or clap your hands, you will hear it as its the box sections that do it. The more you have the more it rings.
Are you sure it’s not your phone ringing?
I’ve literally just clapped really loud and you’re right, it rings!
Was it the glass ringing, or the chassis of the Naim box, or a mixture of the two?
No need to start a new topic David, there are several threads in here on the subject. It’s one of those ones that comes around quite regularly every year or two, a bit like Halley’s comet! Here are two for starters (the latter with photos):

Halley’s Comet…Love it!
That’s the problem, it’s never gonna be your last.
If I had a every time I said that, I’d be very rich!
Told you.
I have a lot of experience of what works and doesn’t work with naim.
Artesania rack works exceptionally well, easily the best rack i have owned.
Plus kudos speakers work exceptionally well even in tight spaces like this. You would have said not a chance that will sound right, but it does and the main reason is the speakers.
Cheers dunc
Speaking of ringing, do those wine glasses in your wall unit, ring when you crank it up?
Have you ever tried anything under your 808s?
I’ve got these…
They don’t, it’s strange as you would have thought it would.
My last speakers, pmc fact 12’s, these made the unit rattle at a certain volume.
So i was worried about the 808’s, but they are fine.
That’s good to hear Dunc👍 I do love those 808s❤️
Previously, I think you said, the 606s have the same signature as the 808s?
Are you able to expand on that please?
They are all voiced the same, you just get more of the same as you go up the range.
But the 808’s are particularly special i feel.
/me takes off dCS hat…
Personally I’m a big fan of what Derek does with his speaker designs, I have two and a half pairs of S10’s, S20’s, 707’s and T88’s and I absolutely love them all - I’d love to get a set of 505’s but I simply can’t justify the expense…
A friend of mine bought 808’s on the strength of having been using my T88’s that I loaned him when I had to “downsize” to 707’s as my significant other simply found the T88’s too big for our living room and TBH she was right but I loved what they did with music and I still love the 707’s.
I honestly have no idea if they “measure well” but they just seem to work well even in positions where they shouldn’t and I find they make music really enjoyable.
