Has anyone tried the HIFI rose 130 with their Bartok? I’m keen on the rose but have a feeling it’s very unlikely to improve SQ at all. Looks fantastic & maybe gives a lot more flexibility.
Almost certainly correct. As I said in the " Do dCS DACS benefit from a music server " thread above, you can feed the dCS component from a better NAS and if that NAS provides a pass through connection to internet that may offer improvement. However external streaming functionality per se is not likely to unambiguously improve things. It could even be worse.
The flexibility I can see seems to relate to AV aspects ( Video, YouTube) which lie beyond the scope of this forum.
Until the dCS Varèse HDMI module comes out, and its trickle down siblings 
. Video? Only if Mosaic Actus offers access ( I doubt). Would not an HDMI module be more likely for what is now standard I2S connectivity, should a Varese buyer still want it?
Oh I suppose there is connectivity to AV components but then they would be providing the source, not Varese, which would only be in a DAC role. No multi-channel though.
I think dCS will likely/ hopefully integrate the L/R front audio part of AV, and the remote operation of connected HDMI sources, with HDMI CEC:
