I have carried out the above procedure several times since having my new Bartók Apex, without success.
It states that the display will go off “after a period of inactivity”. Can anyone tell me, how long that period is?
I’ve waited over an hour and nothing happens.
I do not have Bartok but I expect that the “Display Off” option works similarly across the range.
You can do this using the control menu in Mosaic or visa the front panel.
Select Display Off. It should turn off. When you then use any controls the display will turn back on. Then , after a period of inactivity, the display will turn off again. I just checked my Vivaldi and this is only a couple of seconds.
It’s not working for me either now . However the DAC and Sampler/streamer are different units in Vivaldi so Bartok cannot be fully replicated. I suggest that you email: [email protected]
I did exactly what you said in points 1-3, but the display does not come back on if I change input, or a different radio station.
The display is either manually turned on, or manually turned off. No auto off.
Just, imho, a nice feature for future firmware development. Perhaps the display turning off after 30 minutes of inactivity - defined as music no longer playing.
I only turn my displays on when using my Vivaldi stack. Sometimes I forget to turn them off.
Something like this could also be a workaround for illuminating the Clock display - which cannot be controlled from Mosaic
Not really. With Vivaldi the manual says that if turned off and the menu closes the display will turn off after a few seconds. It will turn on " briefly"when a control setting is selected.
BTW, a display off automatically after a period feature as in Gregg’s posting was requested for Varese a short while ago.Pretty much the same idea.
I tested it on my Bartòk and in Display OFF mode the “period of inactivity” is a couple of seconds.
Are you sure you are pressing the Menu button to change the setting to OFF? Does it show as OFF in the UI? Or you could check in Mosaic (hamburger menu/Display).
However, to Pete’s point please be aware that the display is triggered by the Control Board, i.e. in OFF mode the turn on and turn off times are triggered by button presses on the front panel. When using Mosaic, the signals go through the Network Board, so the Control Board doesn’t ‘know’ about commands issued via Mosaic and display turn on and off is not triggered. Similarly, the Control Board doesn’t ‘know’ if music is playing and I suspect that enabling that, if actually possible, would be a substantial development effort. @glevethan
I thought….that whilst you were playing an album, (activity) then when the album finished, and you didn’t play anything for 20-30 minutes, (no activity) the display would switch off.
I totally got it wrong.
