If tracks are skipping in your local files, you’ve got some serious problems and might want to post on Audirvāna’s community forum. If the skipping is on streaming sources, then you likely have some networking/internet problems.
We don’t currently support DFF and we have been in contact with Audirvana over this in fact only this morning we were in contact via email over your specific issue with DSD playback.
Thanks, that’s terrific. This morning Audirvana and I finally got any tracks to play through without skipping or missing info. We still have other outstanding file issues to work on but at least now I can evaluate the should compared to Roon and others. I signed out of Tidal and Qobuz changed their passwords and did not link them to my Apple account and that seemed to correct those issues not allowing playback. (hoping for an alternative to Roon desperately as I have no faith in where its going under Harmon ownership.) Mosaic is my favorite sound wise but as you know does not have the functionality. I hope you guys continue to work with Audirvana and keep quality up top . Thanks
not so with my Rossini, it sometimes connects UPnP as an option when I reset the Rossini and power cycle. then next reboot the UPnP on audrivana disappears. Im frustrated as I would love to use it. Mosaic with mini server works but the files functionality is kinda scrambled and convoluted on my set up. Wish I could get this fix as Audrivana sound much better than Roon to my ears
Anthony, this post and the one in the UPnP Server thread suggest you have some sort of networking problem in your home network.
If Audirvana is not able to find your Rossini and automatically configure itself appropriately, plus your post in the other thread, suggests you have a UPnP Server discovery problem within your network, which most likely suggests multicast packets are getting lost somewhere on your home network.
What networking elements are there between your Rossini and your Mac running Audirvana?
I have a Cox modem/router 2GB to a network switch that runs the home app functions , tv, alarm, et. I had a dedicated ethernet line run my an electricitian from the modem/router to create 2 RJ45 wall jack in the other side of the room where the Rossini is located and it is directly hardwired to the wall outlet. The second RJ wall outlet is directly into the MBP thru usb adapter. Overall my internet speeds and function are extremely fast and work well. Not sure where the issue can be really. Lots and Lots of troubleshooting probably driving everyone in some forums crazy (apologies) but the crazy thing is before I hooked up the Rossini I was using a Warwick Aperio with Audrivana and connecting on a UPnP drop down menu in the app? It worked right out of the gate when I purchased the subscription which is why it’s making me crazy? Aperio was not even Roon ready or anything network special wise, also had an Innuos at one point also had no issue connecting with Studio??? I recently added the Synology NAS with MinimServer2 onto the network and am using Mosaic. Sounds great but Mosaic is sparse and I really enjoy the Audrivana interface which is why I have not given up on it yet but I am close
First thing I’d say is that what worked or didn’t work in the past with other DACs/Streamers, Servers, etc., isn’t really irrelevant to the issue you have on hand with the Rossini and Audirvana, as things don’t always work the same way.
On to your home network;
What brand/model is that “network switch”?
Are the two RJ45 wall jacks connected to that “network switch” or to your Cox modem/Router? (Your statement is unclear).
Well, it’ll help tremendously if you’re concise in your statements, and use paragraphs generously instead of just one big block of text
