Apex unbalanced output

Hello fellow dCS lovers. This is my first post here. Sorry if this topic has already been covered.

I am aware that the unbalanced output stage of non-Apex dac uses op-amp as opposed to its balanced output stage which utilizes a discrete Class A circuitry.

I am also aware that the Apex version has an upgraded analogue output stage.

May I ask, is the unbalanced output stage of Apex still using op-amp? Or has it been upgraded to a discrete Class A circuitry similar to that of the balanced output stage?

Hi KTS and welcome to the forum.

Although the online information from dCS does confirm a revision to the output stage of Apex it is not specific regarding what was done. I am under the impressionRCA remains an OP amp circuit and XLR still uses discrete components. However this is really a question that requires an inside response from dCS engineers.
