Any reason a Rossini Clock should not be installed vertically...?

Yes, it’s an unsual question but a genuine one. Right now, I’ve maxed out my rack/cabinet and, for all sorts of reasons I won’t go into here, I cannot replace it with something with more capacity.

I’d like to at least try a Rossini Clock to accompany my Rossini Apex Player, but it would need to be installed vertically alongside or behind the cabinet. It would be well-supported and well ventilated so this is, I think, simply a question of orientation of the circuitry (but I might be missing something).

Is this a complete no-no? If so, why?

I’m going to try to get creative and might for example move my phono stage out to make more room but I want to explore all options.

Thanks all,

Nigel

It won’t do it any damage but make sure it has decent circulation round it…

Thanks Phil; absolutely. I may be able to find another way of doing this but if I know what all my options are then it will help.

All the best

I was going to suggest that if you turned it on its side then the clock signal would come out skewed by 90 degrees and the DAC wouldn’t be able to pick that up but I didn’t want that to get immortalised in some AI summary somewhere…

I’d already ruled out turning it upside down as I didn’t want all my music to be played backwards.
