I have been having some issues with the AES connection between my Bartók Apex and Eversolo T8, Streaming Transport. I would be interested to know if members that use this type of connection to their Streamer, encounter the same AES behaviour at me.
When I initially connected the AES cable, (Mogami 3080,110ohm, made by Designacable here in the UK). The Bartók displayed AES1 NO Input. As soon as I started to play Internet radio, or play music from the T8’s SSD, the No Input disappeared.
I found a setting on the T8, ‘Output Parameters’ When I opened the setting, it gave several choices of ‘Continuous Output’ (Please see attached screenshots) I’m not sure which was the correct selection, but anything other than OFF made the AES1 connection act normally.
I was able to pause, resume playing the radio and music, without affecting the AES1 connection status.
However, when I put the T8 in to Standby Mode, the AES1 No Input on the Bartók re appears, until I play music.
It is evident that there is nothing wrong with the Bartók, but perhaps poor AES implementation on the T8. (As suggested by @Anupc)
Audio digital components need to establish a lock between them to function. It sounds like when you put Eversolo into standby the lock is broken. Hence Bartok displays no input. When you bring Eversolo out of standby the lock is re-established when you select the next programme material.
I presume that once the lock has been made you can continue playing albums for that listening session. Put it back to standby and there will be no input received by Bartok. If not and my presumption is incorrect then let us know.
It doesn’t strike me as faulty merely the way Eversolo has engineered it. The continuous output option may overcome this but the manual doesn’t help on this topic.

The T8 has storage and which is where my ripped and purchased FLAC files now reside. Previously they were stuck on a WD USB drive for a year.
And…the T8 has many more music services. Admittedly, I won’t use many of them.
I have three back up SSD drives which contain my ripped and purchased FLAC files.
I have quite a small library, so it took about 30 mins to transfer the files from a USB SSD to the T8. Very easy.
however please tell me again what you think the Eversolo will give you that the Bartok cannot?
