When trying to add a passkey to my dCS login, I get prompted to insert a USB Key. Is it not possible to store the passkey in the local motherboard TPM?

In general, being asked or a USB Key may indicate that the setup software is not able to find a suitable security feature for the device that you are trying to enable. This is normally PIN, face or fingerprint validation.
A passkey has two factors, a public passkey which will be attached to your account and a private passkey for which he software may use the device access validation. You may want to check the device’s credential manager.
NB: I do not care for USB or USB security keys as these can easily be mislaid.

I don’t like USB keys either, that’s why I was looking to tie the passkey to biometrics (which keeps them in the TPM storage). I tried on my ThinkPad which has a fingerprint reader (that I use for other purposes, so its functional), but the forum software did not offer anything else than the USB stick.
No worries, in the meantime I got the browser plugin of KeePassXC to work and I can happily paste into the login fields directly from KeePassXC. So problem solved.
