Dante is not good enough?
We did consider AoIP solutions like Dante, but they require reconstruction of the local clock from a network clock, usually through something like PTPv2. That means the clock is going to be more jittery than a local VCXO based clock. That’s what then drove the necessity for Tomix.
Dante does a great job for what it intends to, but if we’re considering the use case of a 2-channel system as high performing as Varèse, it would have represented a performance bottleneck, so necessitated the creation of a new clocking technology to solve.
The future is so exciting as we see these innovations trickle down into the separates range.
A few months ago, I reached out directly to dCS regarding the possibility of making the blueprints for this cable available. Unfortunately, I never received a response. I run a small audio cabling workshop, and I had assumed that the standard would be openly accessible to external companies so they could also try their hand in this field.
Sorry about that Robert. How did you contact us? I can’t find any trace, apologies if we missed it.
Please could you send this request via email to [email protected] and I’ll make sure it’s routed correctly.
@AndrewS is this is a new e-mail address?
I suspect it’s rather [email protected] …
I suspect that you’re right…
Hello Andrew, I contacted you through your website and the inquiry form. I have just forwarded you a copy of my original request from August 25th, 2025 to the email address below. ( please check )
I also hope that the LEMO connectors will become available to the wider public, as I have not received any reply from LEMO either.
Kind regards,
Robert
Hi Robert,
Apologies for that. We had an issue with an upgrade to our website earlier this year which knocked out the web-based enquiry form briefly. I think you must have hit that exact window.
Anyway, your email has been received and routed to the right person.
Regards….andrew
Thanks @Paul_Bemelmans and @Bauer. This is what happens when I post without my reading glasses. Thanks for jumping on it.
