Definitely not a record with a great sound quality (sorry for ones who think here such music isn’t worth playing on a dCS product ).
Yet, real dynamic and punchy tunes in there!
I more especially appreciate “Mangetout” and “Pokemon”…

50 years old next year, a lush—even by his standards—Alan Parsons production. And though the Wiki and critics claim it has no unifying theme, I think that’s incorrect. To me, this is an aspiring ex-pat anthem, full of tales of childhood fantasies, unrequited love, adventure, of Bogarts and Bergmans, empty pockets and wagered watches, smoky bars and French singers, noir chases down blind alleys, of notoriety and anonymity. I still remember when I first heard the LP on a home-built turntable and balsa wood tone arm with a Grado cartridge feeding a Dyna PAS-3, ST-70 and Rogers speakers. Today, it’s a Vivaldi Apex, T2 amp, and Stax 9000. I’m an incurable romantic, and I still get goosebumps.
Amazing compilation. I saw AB shortly before was killed in Macon, GA. One of my faves on this is the Boz Scaggs Loan Me A Dime. One of my go-to tracks when I need a pick-me-up.
