You can’t just use a Y-Cable to connect two digital audio devices to one AES input I’m afraid …

Jay, although it might be possible to make a split or Y cable that can make an electrical connection it will not maintain the required 110 ohm impedance for the AES/EBU standard. Bluntly you need to make a choice; Vivaldi Upsampler or Aurender. Not maintaining the correct impedance will affect performance.

I could imagine some kind of switch box using transformers but I would venture that doing this successfully would prove quite a task.

Why am I writing? to caution you against anyone just trying to make a quick buck.

My choice is the Vivaldi Upsampler. Would still be interested in understanding anyone’s experiences with external streamers.
