Nice!! :+1:

Let me try and predict the possible changes over time :winking_face_with_tongue:

  • Marantz Cinema AV Receiver replaced with;

    • Discrete multi-channel AV Processor (Datasat, Lyngdorf, Trinnov, etc.)
    • dCS MCD16 into the Marantz Multi-Channel Amp
  • dCS Rossini Clock replaced with Vivaldi Clock

    • For the additional clocks required for the dCS MCD16

I think I too know pretty much well those 803D4 puppies…

Thanks Anup. The possible changes are many, and it is way more complicated than you suggest

The current Marantz AV20 is already a AV processor, not a receiver, but indeed already contains a 18 channel DAC, be it 9x ESS ES9018K2M. The DSP chip is a SHARC+ 2,000 MIPS 1GHz dual-core, the ADSP-21593. I do not need 18 channels, but a Trinnov Altitude CI8 would do for the moment.

The dCS MCD 16 will probably cost tonnes. Maybe they will come with a MCD 8?

The Marantz MM 7055 will be replaced with a Marantz AMP 20, or so.

Yes, I know :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Do you like them?

If I hadn’t, wouldn’t have bought them…

Gave a quick look at your history on this thread, and looks like we have pretty similar tastes in term of gear (B&W 805, and then 803; Simaudio Moon, Niagara 3000…)
Except for the amps, and I’m not a Home Theater guy!

Indeed! Same main speakers, DAC and Clock! And the 2 headphones too :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Right! Forgot to mention the headphones, but those two are pretty much “standard in most of Audiophile’s closet”…

Exciting times ahead for you no doubt!
