Thanks Lee, actually I had to give up nearly 2m for the new kitchen so the length of the room is just slightly above 7m while its width is slightly above 5m. But everything is working well here so far and I’m pleased with the results.
Aldo, the designer and owner of Sigma Acoustic, when came here with his family last year to setup the speakers, he told me my room is pretty good acoustically.
He recommended to pull the speakers around 0.5m closer to the listening position to get the ultimate performance, but they could dominate the whole room so I decided to optimise the second best position for them as where they are.
I don’t know when Aldo will come back to the UK, but if that day happens then I’ll ask him for help to re-setup the speakers to see how things go. Should be very interesting
Thank you, it took me 10 years to get my room built eventually and after what’d happened to my family, especially my son, I thought red could bring better luck to us and the red Ferrari colour looks great too.
I was waiting for 5 months for the speakers to be built and 10 months for the amps. Well worth the wait
Little tweaks, much to the chagrin of the “house manager”. Pulled the speakers off the ledge and placed on the floor, where they should have been always, swapped the old 350.5 for a pair of xa60.8’s. Magical!! Haven’t hooked the RELs up yet, letting the amps burn in a bit (or my ears also)
That is one RED system. It looks incredible. I never heard that tune before. It sounds great on my system. Thanks for showing your system and sharing that piece of music.
Autumn has arrived, the weather suddenly becomes rainy and cloudy with fallen leaves everywhere. I’m posting a sunny picture, captured just a couple of days ago, to remind me of having 4 seasons in a year is amazing and beautiful <3
Congratulations @Omni. Quite the system you have there. One of the two main high-end dealers in Stockholm is big on mbl and I have spent many an hour listening to the 101Es (he even had the 101 X-Tremes in store for a couple of years) with mbl electronics many times. Quite the spell those speakers cast! Now you have a front end that does them proud. Wishing you many hours of fine listening! Please let us know your impressions.
I’m finally adding a third to mine, the upsampler. A trade in at a dCS dealer who had remembered I was looking for one. Thanks Wolfgang Linhard of My-Sound. I hope to get it in before Christmas.
After that I only have Apex and the clock to go - long-term planning though.
Looking good @Omni! Have you tried running the Vivaldi directly into the mbls yet? If not you might like to give it a try (don’t forget to turn down the volume in the DAC first). If you do please report back.
Strategically placed Ostrich feather duster from my wife. It was intended as a Christmas present but she’s obviously giving me a hint with it’s early arrival…
( btw - Very happy with the Melco N1S38 server and S100 switch )
I tried my previous Rossini direct into the MBL mono’s while the Halcro pre was at the doctors.
While that sounded good, I slightly preferred the sound with the Halcro when it returned.
I will try direct with Vivaldi over the Xmas break when I have more time to play.
