Thanks. I was puzzled by your earlier post as it seemed OT but now I get the point.
Hi everyone - long-time lurker, first-time poster here. Love my Lina DAC and clock, and this communityās depth of knowledge.
Reading this AI discussion got me thinking differently about the question. Rather than AI answering our technical questions, what if it helped us ask better questions about our own listening experiences?
I work in collaborative intelligence (humans and AI thinking together), and Iām curious:
What if AI could help us discover aspects of our musical experience that we canāt quite articulate on our own?
For example, I notice my system sounds completely different late at night versus during the day - not just room acoustics, but something about how Iām listening. Thereās something there I canāt quite put into words.
My question for the forum:
Is there a piece of music that your DCS system reveals in a way that surprises you every time you hear it? Something where you think āI never noticed that beforeā even after hundreds of listens?
Wondering if AI might help us explore those ineffable moments where great gear meets great music and something magical happens that we struggle to describe.
What do you think? Am I overthinking this, or is there something worth exploring?
Cheers,
Keiron.
Hi Keiron it is nice to welcome you here as this is your first posting.
I think you have an interesting point and my own reaction is; why not try and see what you get from the AI engine? You then you can decide if and how you want to go further. Just remember that any AI content posted here must be clearly identified . The answer may cause you to create a new thread dealing with this specific point.
Thanks for saying hello Pete, much appreciated I think Iāll try a new thread and see how that works out.
What if an AI posts this: āAfter extensive quantitative and double blind qualitative tests and measurements, and multiple direct correspondences from dCS, all spec, unshielded Ethernet cables sound the same.ā
Then half of the forum will have a meltdown!
lol

(JK and apologies all around)
A perfectly acceptable and interesting comment from the AI engine. All that is required is that it is clearly identified as being sourced from AI in a post here .
NB: As Andrew has pointed out in another thread, the issue with shielded internet cables and dCS units is that the shield cannot be correctly terminated in these circumstances.
I posted an AI answer in the āDo better ethernet cables matter?ā thread. I will also compare the Shunyata Omega to my ā¬6.49 cable to double check.
