Thanks for that more extensive list Jonathan. Again there is no obvious relationship of single or cohorts of labels to be withdrawn . At this stage of what we can see from this and from other postings appears to concern individual album titles as as some albums from the same artist on the same label are affected, others not.
As well as issues already mentioned by me, there are also rights matters such as change of ownership of repertoire and other factors. This issue can be very, very complex.
To some extent this has always gone on. Checking around the interweb there have been questions concerning Qobuz and titles made unavailable for some years. However the answer given concerns the normal changes regarding rights matters. This is commonplace and also affects other streaming services. Without them having sales they do this without notification ( after all they have no idea what you are going to stream).
So, as this is being done as a huge tranche rather than piecemeal, it should be noticeable and we shall have to see how it affects us individually as large numbers of titles of interest for streaming, if not purchase, may also disappear.
Another reason to buy, download and backup albums that are important to you. They may not be available later.
Luckily, I already have all of the listed albums downloaded and backed up but, out of interest, I just tried to re-downland the John Wilson/Sinfonia of London album, but the download option isnât availableâŚ
That may depend on which Qobuz service you subscribe to. It is available on Qobuz UK. At leas it it is listed and priced. It is also available from Presto.
However is seems that this item has disappeared from Chandosâ own website. So something seems to be going on. I will not be surprised to find that it disappears from Qobuz UK shortly.
Me too. bit I just looked up on Qobuz and it is there and prices for CD and Hi-res are given with the latter showing a discount for Sublime+subscribers. Qobuz usually puts a âflashâ where titles are available for one mode ( streaming or download) but not the other.
So what are you seeing which does not allow you to download this? Have you gone beyond the streaming website, been referred to the download store which is where you find the embargo?
I think I might see what has happened. I am confusing download (where it is held in the Qobuz playerâs software for offline use) with purchased downloads.
I am no longer being offered the former for this title but the purchasing route still seems to be there although I now note that they have changed the method and require you to charge a âwalletâ. However I have decided not to purchase from them anyway due to the many faulty downloads ( missing metadata) I have experienced.
We are both subscribers to Qobuz UK. However I am in the UK and ( I think) you are in HK. So it looks like the purchase option is not reaching you. You are not seeing the new mode that Qobuz is using for purchased downloads.
When I buy an album, I do see (but ignore) the Qobuz wallet optionâŚ
As I have already bought, and previously downloaded this album, I was seeking to re-download it (as a fail-safe), but Iâm not given that optionâŚ
Which seems strange because, in the e-mail from Qobuz, they include a âdownload my purchasesâ button/link (which doesnât work for me, by the way)âŚ

To do this you need to open the WQobuz download store ( you may need to Google this). Your login is the same as for the streaming service. Then open your account ( top right if I remember). Once in your account you can find all of your purchases and download then again. Obviously you may need to do this before Tuesday for any of the albums in your list notified by Qobuz.
Edit: Hereâs a link ( you amy need to select the Download Store option in the banner heading:
There are no updates showing as being available for my (previous) Qobuz desktop app, so it seems likely that something funky is going on with my MacBookâŚ
Rob, the withdrawal affects not only your purchases but also what you want to stream .
The only thing so far is that individuals have been notified of their purchases at risk if they have not backed them up. The removal will be a lot more taking away both tracks that you may want to buy or stream in the future.
What we do not know is if this is just the result of normal repertoire churn or more significant affecting entire labels. We will see from Tuesday.
Im guessing that qobuz is reducing tracks or labels available for review due to licensing cost, availability or cost vs yield issues. They have continuously been the better alternative providing a superior hirez music product. I suspect that qobuz is only providing advanced notice of what is to come universally in the competive music streamin* business
This makes total sense for many (perhaps most Qobuz users?). But for those of us who live on a diet of mainly classical music - the withdrawal of the key labels listed above would be an issue.
Itâs October 2. Has anybody noticed any difference? I have carried out a quick dipstick test using some of the titles notified in this thread as at risk and all that I have tried still exist for streaming and are still offered for sale as downloads ( Qobuz UK).
So, unless someone tells me differently, the outcome seems very limited ( whatever it may be) and the fears expressed abut removal of entire labels groundless.
