Yes I have BHK M300 mono blocks. Obviously good synergy with the pre. My gut feeling is to use the pre amp TBH. Certainly was the case with my current DAC, PSAudio direct stream mk.2.
Try with and without and choose to your like (Apex should do only more wonders!).
Having the PS audio directstream dac I preferred listening with pre, AR Ref 6SE → AR Ref 160S. With the Vivaldi Apex to me it’s obvious the system isn’t in need for this preamp, I sold the Ref 6SE to reinvest at the streamer side (Aurender W20SE). No regrets.

I’ve found a Rossini (non-Apex) and clock. Got the Apex upgrade booked in. Just listening to the combo now it’s kinda difficult to imagine how it could get any better.
