Yes. I transferred my local files to N5. You just select UPnP in Mosaic to navigate and play.
A more detailed point: Mosaic will not identify your server as Melco N5 but as MinimServer i.e. the software not the hardware.

I finally decided on getting the Dela N5 for my music library. It is now 7 days old, sitting on my rack.
Honestly, I have not heard USB input to Rossini Apex dac sounding so great before. The sound is super controlled and meaty.
Sound through Ethernet/NW also seems to be better. But I have to listen to it more.
All software (Songkong, Minimserver) came properly installed. Upgrade worked without a problem. I could set up the music download from Qobuz without much of a problem (don’t use any special characters in the password - that does not work).
The UI is a little inconvenient, but it does what it is supposed to do without any problem. The navigation is intuitive enough. No sound of the hard disk drive spinning, even when I come close to the unit.
The Roon Ready endpoint seemed a little clunky. Got into n/w congestion. I had to restart the unit.
Overall, super satisfied so far. Thanks @Anupc, and all for your inputs
Wondering if N1 (at $6K more cost) can provide any substantial improvement over N5 ?

I had both and could not hear any difference.
Other than the N5 had a HDD and the N1 has a SSD.
The same with Innuos Stream 3 and The Zen 2nd Generation…no difference.
I now have a Eversolo T8.(£1,260) I found it equal in SQ to the Innuos Zen 2nd Generation. (£10,000)
I could hear the HDD spinning sitting on the sofa from 3 metres away, which is the reason I got rid of it.
Perhaps mine was faulty, or I’ve got ears like a bat! 
No sound from my N5 nor from its predecessor N17H. Ok I can just (just) hear a faint sound if I press my ear into direct contact with the case.
I think that either your one was indeed faulty or that you have such sensitive hearing that a new career is open to you in the NHS as a stethoscope replacement

David, didn’t you say you had the Melco N1?? That has an SSD; a solid-state drive that doesn’t generate any mechanical noise. Any noise you heard was from something else

You are right Anup, the NI is as quiet as a mouse.
Without reigniting the same old debate.
One of the main reasons I got rid of a £11,995 unit, is because my files stored on the N1 sounded exactly the same as on Qobuz via Mosaic.
Even the Innuos Zen 2nd Gen at £10,000 sounded the same!
Now with the Eversolo T8, I can listen to my own purchased music stored on the T8’s SSD, for a fraction of the price.
