There is currently no WCLK output of the MC-3+ connected to the NB.
I went straight for the SE120. Difficult to say, whether there were any significant changes, since the system as a whole is too complex, and SQ depends on a multitude of factors (sources ¹), ADC, digital room correction, upsampling, DAC mapping and choice of filters, interconnects, preamp, power amp, speaker cables, speakers).
The final result is a matter of synergy between all system components involved.
¹) analog sources: phono & phono preamp, reel to reel recorder, ADC (for digital room correction)
digital sources: NB & NAS, CD transport, FM tuner, TV, Blu-Ray & DVD, PC, digital recorder, mix console.
One remark about Coherent Systems:
