The SQ of Roon is certainly compromised - I don’t think SQ is their priority. The reason the Grimm MU1 sounds so good is that they actually dump a lot of Roon software and replace it with their own. So it’s a highly customised version.
Or better to ask how is Roon compromised for a dCS user connecting to a roon server / network via ethernet with no dsp? I’ve tried to hear a difference between Roon music streamed via Mosaic via Qobuz and I just can’t hear a difference. I’m in no position to evaluate their dsp however.
I have experienced minor drop outs when streaming from Roon to grouped wireless speakers.

Roon vs. others is the same for me also.
Perhaps there’s a difference for some people — I don’t doubt Martin hears a difference, for example — but nor do I doubt that I don’t.
