Coincidentally I still have the top of the line Sony ES cassette machine of the time and many tapes of live concerts ( Proms etc.) However I cannot raise enough enthusiasm to reinstate it nor do I really have the room.
This topic of tape really deserves its own thread.
I donât know this supposedly âjournalistâ but the âeverybody knowsâ or âanyone can verify by himselfâ arguments he claims here are clearly similar to ones found in fake newsâŠ
Unless you share your actual sources now, backfire will be coming to you quite fast Mr GregoryâŠ
Old news at this point, Richard. Being a DZ owner and having read literally hoursâ worth of posts on this matter (unfortunately the majority just trolls âfencing with opinionsâ) my summary is as follows:
Roy subsequently claimed that DZ had defaulted on repayments related to Swiss Government COVID loans, that this had been subject to a court judgment and was âwidely knownâ. He has not presented any evidence of this and WBF members in Switzerland have searched the public records which are apparently updated daily and found no evidence to support this whatsoever.
The two key questions people are searching for answers to are 1. Will DZ survive as a going concern and develop/sell new products? and 2. Will owners of current DZ products be able to get them serviced in the future?
Unfortunately internet he-said-she-said back and forth can do an awful lot of harm to people that donât necessarily deserve it. Although personally I have no affiliation to Dartzeel beyond a couple of bits of their kit sometimes being used in the dCS dem room I REALLY hope that we donât lose a fellow manufacturer.
Speaking only from my perspective I would say that if anyone in the high end audio business was looking to maximise the amount of money they make theyâd not be in the high end audio business - theyâd just apply themselves to something else that gives a better return on their efforts - so, even though a business has to support itself, just being in this industry is a passion and to wish to follow your passion enough to make it your livelihood is a very special thing. Itâs a passion not only for the company owners and designers of the kit but for all of us who work in it and if any of that passion is extinguished, for whatever reason, then we are all the poorer.
