Bought a Rossini Today!

I think it may be when using an external source - my LG is only used with either a SkyQ receiver or an HTPC and I had the same dropouts on either.

I don’t use the internal tuner or apps so I have no idea whether I would get the same on those but Ben seems to only get the issue when using an external source.

I think it has to do with the signal provided by the broadcaster. I’ve got plenty of clicks and dropouts on DVB broadcasts om my Samsung QLED TV, related to how the stream is edited. Get a click between ads, some scene edits and so on. It’s ALL a 48kHz stream, but discontinuous. None on old analog TV broadcasts - but that has since been discontinued here.

I found out the Rossini DAC became a tad unstable while using its Toslink input for TV (it would lock up, needing a hard reset) so I got me a (Lake People) reclocker.

I have new LG tv and it works fine through into my Rossini via an optical connection. There can be a click when a video begins or ends but never during playback.
My source is internet only.

At audiophilestyle is a Rossini clock review published- I wonder why they used AES attached Aurender w/clock input rather than upnp. Afaik dCS preferences LAN.

Presumably for the very reason he explains in the paragraph immediately after explaining the dCS-Aurender clocking/AES connection;

Because I’m using a Constellation Audio preamp, I connected a USB cable from the Aurender W20SE to the USB port on the back of the Inspiration Preamp. This communication port enables the Aurender iOS app to have full control of the preamp’s volume, mute, input and phase settings. It essentially places the Constellation remote control inside the Aurender Conductor app. It’s a beautiful thing.

Obviously he’s more interested in convenience rather than sound quality (like said before, this guy shouldn’t give up his day job :laughing:)

I have a DISH Network Hopper DVR and it works perfectly with my Rossini Player without even needing to be in Audio sync mode. :man_shrugging:
