Bartok - what server?

I built my own Roon NUC server. Better specs than the Nucleus Plus, and it was half the price. Just not as pretty of a case.

Aurender N20, connected to Bartok via AES/EBU cable, with the Bartok clocking the Aurender via BNC cable. Steaming Tidal and Qobuz, and playing CD’s and lots of SACD’s that were ripped, put on a hard drive, and then transferred to the N20. Love the sound quality: soundstage, depth, resolution, and sense of air between instruments. USB connection also sounds good, but a little brighter with a somewhat wider soundstage.

Consider one of Melco’s products, it will be enough to get some sound enhancements, built-in Minimserver, recommended by dCS and file storage.
If you already have a network storage (for example, QNAP or Synology), then you can pay attention to the Melco S100 switch.

I couldnt agree more. An Intel I7 NUC with ROON Rock, together with an entry level Synology NAS has served me really well (in continuous use) since 2018.
