To remind those who have been inn the dCS family for a long time, they developed a DAC on a chip in the first years of Y2K partnering Wolfson. Rumour has it that the subsequent feeling was ( is),never again.

Well looking at how big the ring dac is, then to me it looks like a completely different dac would need to be done to get something small enough to be called portable.
I think the flex boards used in the lina dac show how small things can get with the ring dac as it is ?
Would be nice to see what they could do, but i don’t think that market is for dCS and their designs. It’s more getting the most out off the kit, rather than compromise for size.
