That AI/ChatGPT-generated “Review” of Rossini APEX DAC did nothing for me. You could possibly substitute any model in place of Rossini APEX DAC & it still wouldn’t move the needle for me.
Best to all,

I have sympathy for many views expressed here but I wouldn‘t worry too much about Google search finding this “review”. Search for fact finding/research will change in the future. I started to use Perplexity AI.
Here are two queries on dCS technology/products. It provides links to the sources. It uses GPT-4 as well as Claude from Anthropic. It also offers a paid version for research which I‘m thinking of getting.
Very interesting, thanks for the heads up. I am going to give this one a closer look!
I suspect, if Google were able to use AI to find the most appropriate articles on the web for the question being asked, that would be a step forward too.
Yes, but it does use AI. That’s how it works
.
Or doesn’t!
I’ll rephrase my sentence ‘if Google were able to use AI that works…’ ![]()
We can all relax a bit. I asked Perplexity to list all the blog and forum posts mentioning the Oyaide Tunami Terzo V2 cable and then I asked it to list all the forum posts on reviews of the dCS Rossini. It didn’t list this AI “review.” It even asked me for the second query which forums I wanted it to search. I specified dCS Community for the Rossini query (it didn’t ask me for the Oyaide query). It apparently was smart enough not to pick up this thread.
Here is what it came up with on the Oyaide Tunami Terzo V2
Phew. I thought the internet was going to break!
; )
Hopefully we can agree that clearly labeling AI-related posts is sufficient and not grounds for not being permitted to discuss them on this forum.
I think just as big a concern for me, is the other source of false reviews - inept human reviewers and paid influencers. I stopped monitoring the AG forum because a particular cable manufacturer is using the forum to market his products. On other forums I’ve seen numerous threads were 2 guys go back and forth about the virtue of a product at the expense of another, where careful reading convinced me these guys were not discussing but were “marketing” their preferred brand. Of course many so called reviews are nothing more than product advertising with an attempt to get a kick back from Amazon - search for “best widget” and you will be shown “Ten Best Widgets” and every one will have a link to Amazon. Nothing on the Internet should be trusted.
I agree, I believe dCS were canvassing opinion on how we label such topics (not questioning whether we should be allowed to discuss them).
Right now, I’m more concerned about the havoc that could be created with tabloid-press or Putin bots filling the internet with their view of the world.
Well, on this forum some people talk endlessly about Shunyata (sorry if the spelling is incorrect) and also Nordost…A part from that there is not so much product placements…
I think people giving an honest opinion on a company/product they use alongside dCS equipment is fair. The fact these names (and others) happen to come up quite frequently might be for a good reason!
What’s not on is someone that is being paid to make such comments.
I couldn’t agree more Mark. IMHO, majority of the “Reviews” online are nothing more than regurgitation of the Vendor’s marketing brochures, including from some renown magazines. Very few truly offer tangible information useful to someone wanting a comparative understanding against what they already own, or someone trying to make an actual buying decision.
I wonder if this thread is not deviating significantly from its topic towards a more generalised discussion about audio journalism beyond that of machine generated “reviews” ( API).
Should a new thread be started?
Wouldn’t just putting at the beginning, clearly, possibly in caps “This is an AI-generated piece, not a professional review” solve the problem that some (including me) are seeing?

Maybe with the advent of AI we’ll finally see a counter-revolution: a return of the “test drive”, or in our case, brick-and-mortar dealers working with manufacturers to allow customers to hear it for themselves. And more programs from dealers, manufacturers and distributors for try-and-buy options.
