There were many customers who had older versions of machines, such as DCS, verdi, eocore, Elgar, etc., and software upgrades often had to be handled by an agent. Can this kind of machine make the file and put it on the Internet, so that the customer can download the file and make it into a CDROM for upgrading?
Basically not as far as I am aware. The current update is , of course, related to Mosaic which is not a facility that those earlier units enjoy.
Unfortunately the type of software updates that those units had ceased when they went out of production. If you have a specific item that interests you I can only suggest that you contact support:
Hi,
Some units had to be updated by physically dismantling the unit and updating using replacement ROMs or custom hardware however some devices were updated using CDs with new firmware files written to them … for the latter we do try to make files available for creating CDs (or for updating using audio players) where possible.
If you contact [email protected] then we will try to assist.
Best Regards
Phil Harris
The software version for DCS Verdi Eocore customers is 1.03 with no digital input and 1394 functionality, but a 1394 card inside. Is there an upgrade disc for this machine?
Regular customers often consult me about some upgrades or fixes.
Like these old products, customers are also the ancestors who support Dcs, please provide more convenience to them.
CDROM discs are no longer available for legacy units. As Phil of support says, contact them and they will try to assist. However I imagine some customers buy a used unit which is out of production and are hoping that update discs for that unit continued thereon. Unfortunately no new updates are available once a line goes out of production and it becomes a legacy unit. Note that Mosaic is a universal feature for dCS streaming units so even if the line has been discontinued Mosaic updates remain available e.g. Network Bridge.
A Verdi Encore without digital inputs is not an Encore as that was the name given to the major hardware upgrade/new production. Hardware required as 1394 connectors had to be added to the rear panel.Without it is simply a Verdi. That’s if my memory is correct. It was a long time ago .
This link may be helpful for you as it lists the software revisions to many products made of the past years. However it does not go back as far as the first generation ( Elgar/Purcell/Verdi/Verona):

Hi,
I’m afraid we cannot supply firmware or hardware updates for any Verdi units.

Phil
I think you’re mistaken, there’s hardware with digital inputs. But there is nothing to do on the software side.
I wonder if the Verdi Eocore software version is not available at issue:1.03 or for some other reason?
I consulted a friend and his Verdi Eocore issue:1.1 has a source selection function.
I’m not asking for a software upgrade for older devices, but I’m asking for a more convenient way to support these older users.
It’s the Internet era. The new software can be downloaded online, so why can’t the old one do it?
You need to ask dCS this. I am just a forum member. They ( in the person of Phil) have just said :
So that seems to be how it stands.
If I can’t download the upgrade disc online, can I buy the Verdi Eocore upgrade CD?
Hi,
I’m afraid we cannot supply firmware or hardware updates for any Verdi units.
