Who is using shunyata cable with DCS ? And which one ?
I use shunyata theta xlr, very good.
Nick
I will put my hand up here.
I use Shunyata power cables throughout my HiFi system (as opposed to the legacy home cinema extensions).. For the dCS units (Rossini and clock) and Chord electronics amplifiers I use Shunyata Alpha NR. Defiantly an improvement for those Mono Blocs connected directly to the audio dedicated ring main. Maybe just nice to have for the rest.
The interconnects and speaker cables are all Transparent Reference.. .
Same here…
I use Shunyata Sigma V2 NR to the Vivaldi DAC, Shunyata Alpha V2 NR to the Upsampler, and Shunyata Delta V2 NR to the Clock. My amps and pre amp use Transparent OPUS power cables.
And what about your audio cable ?
Here is my advice; for a Vivaldi system go Shunyata Omega for power and digital, nothing beats this ! For the analog, go Transparent ![]()
On the clock connections Shunyata omega will extend the stage wide and deep and the transparent reference XL will give you the best PRAT. Pick your poison. I use transparent between the clock and DAC and Shunyata Omega between the clock and upsampler, perfect mix.
I too use Shunyata Omega for all digital connections between Vivaldi Upsampler, Lina DAC and Dutch & Dutch 8c speakers, plus Omega for all ethernet cables. Shunyata Sigma V2 for all clock cables and on the audio/power side all Cardas Clear Beyond (XL). Haven’t dared audition Omega clock cables yet!![]()
I use the omega ethernet cable on the last leg to the upsampler.
Sigma v2 aes between the upsampler and dac.
Chord music xlr’s from dac to pre.
As far as click cables go it’s just the cheap Apogee Wyde Eye (Geistnote). Haven’t tried more expensive clock cables as I believe these fo the job perfectly fine, but willing to be proved wrong as always.
If you were asking me, Speaker cables and pre-amp to amps interconnect are Transparent Opus, From Vivaldi DAC to Pre-amp is Transparent Reference XL.
Dunc - I started with Apogee Wyde Eye before moving on. You should demo - you will be surprised.
What’s the best one to go for then with value in mind over what I have, as I am not going to spend say £10000 on 4 of these, as i know the returns won’t justify that.
There are plenty to choose from. Myself and several friends on this forum used Black Cat Mini Trons. I moved to an all Siltech loom and am now running them - 680D in the UK is 1400 gbp so 5600 gets you a set of 4 - half of the 10,000 number you mentioned above.
I had two people in my room (a forum member and a designer of Stax headphone amplifiers) when I swapped out Geisnotes for Black Cat. I wish I had a video camera to record the expression on their faces.
They at least confirmed I was not crazy when I did the comparison by myself ![]()
Agree about not going crazy with the price. I remember when I had Rossini Clock. The dealer tried to convince me to buy a pair of Transparent clock cables which cost more than the clock itself.
We don’t really get them cables here, plus never seen any for sale secondhand.
As cables like this i like to buy secondhand so I don’t lose 50% or more on them if and when I sell them
Siltech hold their value - I also hope the dealer will give you a discount.
As for losing 50% on selling……unless you are planning on pulling an Andrew and upgrading to Varese…..you won’t be selling them ![]()

Most cables lose 50% over here once secondhand, I have bought all my cables secondhand and saved an absolute fortune in doing so.
Won’t ever be going varese, but you never know what’s round the courner these days
I would like to try them cables but I think over here that’s not going to be easy. Whereas shunyata cables much easier to find.
Many thanks with all your experience. I use 2 Omega cable between my two clocks after testing a lot of bnc cable. I tried one pair of xlr sigma X between the Rossini and my preamp. Really, a big jump in all areas. Reason why I wanted to read your experiences.
I remember these guys from my NAIM days
PS I would not complain. You have no idea how fortunate you guys in the UK are compared to Stateside
There is NOTHING available for home demo - the concept does not exist.
I’m a believer in Caelin’s stuff. Use Omega for analogue, digital and other Shunyata power cables for dCS. Omega Ethernet from Grimm MU1 to Upsampler. Every link in the chain is important though not necessarily equal in relative importance. If you call The Cable Company they can identify which products they have in their Library for loan, if that’s something you’re willing to entertain.
