Does anyone use Roon or Audirvana upsampling with their Bartoks or is this pointless as the unit is already doing the upsampling? If so what do people upsample to for best results?

Sound quality of Roon upsampler is quite poor compared to the internal upsampler of your DAC: huge loss of dynamic.
Tried it by the past, and rapidly gave up.
Also tried HQPlayer (and its many filters and parameters) in combination with Roon ~5y ago, and even if it sounded better than the Roon built-in upsampler, I never got fully convinced by the sound of it, always preferring the native file entering my Bartok…
Now best would be to try by yourself by benefiting the trial periods of both softwares.
