I use a Melco N1Z Minimserver and UPnP through the Rossini Apex via ethernet.
It seems that out of the blue Mosaic has changed a couple of things.
Both are minor, but annoying.
First, I notice that Mosaic no longer gives the time in the Play Queue.
Second, when I look at the albums by an artist I see the album icons (I use grid view, but that doesn’t seem to matter). But since last week, some of the artists have an icon (no picture) with the number of items as a “title” below the icon. For example, within The Offspring folder there are the 9 album icons, with an additional icon that is blank but has “110 items” below the blank square where an album title would be.
This is only true for a few artists. Very annoying.
This is true for artists that I have not looked for a while or artists that I’ve recently updated. No rhyme or reason.
I just want to mention the request from Phil Harris at dCS last week:
" Hi All,
If you are having any issues with Mosaic 1.4 can you please make sure that they get emailed to [email protected] - that way they don’t get lost in the middle of a thread on the forums. We do try to keep an eye on the forums but it is quite “fluid” and I’d like to be able to track the problems that any of you are having."
So please send an email to Support to make sure that Phil will not lose the valuable points that you make.
As Pete has already pointed out - can you drop me an email at [email protected] with this issue and can you also include a couple of example screenshots to show what you are seeing?
This one is an odd one as Mosaic only shows what is returned from the UPnP server so if an additional folder is being shown then this would suggest that something new is being returned from the UPnP server itself and I’d like to check this against Minimserver on the Melco I have here at home which isn’t showing that issue on 1.4 for me.
Phil, I too use a Melco N1Z as NAS for UPnP purposes ( latest full MinimServer2) and have no problems at all with the cover art images returned which are always correct.
When I have difficulties with images the first place I check is the ID3 information with the file and the way the ripping software (or other) has entered the image including its description ( front cover, rear cover etc.etc.) which can produce unexpected results. This is, of course, not something that only affects v.1.4.
I also wonder if @Hornps uses the free or paid for version of MinimServer and if this would make a difference given the former’s restrictions?
It shouldn’t do … the only real difference between in functionality the paid for and free versions is the ability to configure your own views, other than that the two versions are the same codebase and are essentially identical.
